Rats Entering Leeds Property Through Drains
Domestic services
Rodents
MJ Backhouse visited a home in Leeds last month after the homeowners had spotted rat activity within their premises, discovering that they were gaining access through a broken drain.
Our engineers carried out a comprehensive CCTV drain survey, which shows any faults in the pipeline, and found that the drain was cracked, providing the perfect entry point for the rats. Rats entering a home through broken/cracked drains is a common occurrence and highlights the importance of ensuring that drains are inspected and checked for a fault on a regular basis.
Rat flap
To solve the problem and ensure that no rats can enter the home in the future, a one-way flap was fitted to the sewer line. This one-way flap allows rats out through the exit but once passed, the flap will not open again. This will also then prevent rats entering the property through the crack in the pipe.
Rat activity
We recently posted a blog about increasing rat activity, so there is even more important to be vigilant when it comes to spotting rat activity within not only your domestic property but any commercial premises, such as restaurant or offices in the future.
