Pest Control for Birds
Over the years bird control has become a major part of MJ Backhouse’s pest control services, with work ranging from installing netting on a domestic roof to pigeon spikes on an industrial warehouse.
Birds, with pigeons in particular, have been known to carry bacteria and viruses, which can be transmitted to humans and ultimately lead to disease.
In addition to possible diseases, the presence of pigeons and other birds will lead to fouling that will make buildings look dirty and could cause corrosion of parts of the building.
Pigeon and bird droppings can also make walkways and pavements slippery, which may lead to injuries to employees, customers, suppliers or the general public.
Possible signs of a pigeon or bird problem:
• Droppings and nesting materials
• Damaged stock
• Live birds and bird noises
MJ Backhouse pigeon control services will initially carry out an extensive survey to assure that the correct proofing, cleaning and safety methods are employed.
We pride ourselves on our bird control methods and can use a variety of solutions to remove the pigeon problem and other birds.
1. Netting- Lightweight method that seals off an area and prevents access to where birds have been roosting
2. The Spring Wire System- Humane method that prevents pigeons landing on ledges, gutter, pipes and windowsills
3. The Spike System- Humane deterrent that restricts access to edges, ledges, gutters, pipes and windowsills
More and more birds are also now making homes under solar panels, so if you have a problem with birds around your solar panels, please check out our page here.Birds Pest Guide
